DelawareCAN Action Fund is an organization committed to advocating for the issues that will address the urgent needs of our Delaware students. We work with elected officials and communicate with Delawareans about our vision of an equitable education system. Since 2020 we have also partnered with other education organizations to find and train qualified school board candidates and educate legislative candidates on the importance of our issues.
Following the 2022 legislative session we will launch our first ever Legislative Scorecard. Our scores will be focused on the vote tracking of various pieces of legislation and our aim is to highlight which candidates are, and which candidates are not, education voters.

Britney Mumford, Executive Director
A born and bred Delawarean, Britney attended Caesar Rodney High in Camden before earning her bachelor’s in Political Science at East Carolina University. After college, Britney kicked off her career with various political campaigns from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. She learned quickly that her passion was building relationships and giving people the tools to change their communities and that grassroots organizing was the key to changing the world for the better.
More recently, Britney has used her organizing skills at issue-based nonprofits including fundraising for public broadcasting and educational campaigns on the federal judicial nominations process. Working in various communities across the country, she has seen firsthand how a solid education can change the trajectory of someone’s life.
